Carroll County SHRM Wins Platinum Excel Award for 2018

Carroll County SHRM Awarded For Elevating Human Resources, Improving Workplaces

Westminster, MD, May 31, 2019 — SHRM (the Society for Human Resource Management) recently awarded Carroll County SHRM its prestigious EXCEL Platinum Award for the chapter’s accomplishments in 2018.

The EXCEL award aligns individual chapters’ and state councils’ activities with SHRM’s aspirations for the HR profession. The award recognizes major accomplishments, strategic activities, and tactical initiatives that elevate the profession of human resources.

Through their courage and leadership, Carroll County SHRM is driving true, measurable progress toward the healthy, productive, and dynamic workplaces of tomorrow,” said Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, president and chief executive officer of SHRM. “Awarding this Platinum Excel Award is just one small way for SHRM to recognize and celebrate the big steps this chapter has taken this past year.”

The EXCEL Award can be earned at four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Each level has a prescribed set of requirements and accomplishments that must be met. Carroll County SHRM will receive recognition in SHRM publications and at conferences, a logo to display on its website, and information to share with its members about the significance of this award.

Each year we strive to support the SHRM Foundation, increase membership, and engage in local government affairs. In 2018 we were also worked on community engagement by partnering with our chamber of commerce in sponsoring a local workplace violence event at the community college. In the future we look forward to making new partnerships within our community to engage HR professionals.

Carroll County SHRM Receives Prestigious SHRM Award for Advancing the HR Profession

Carroll County SHRM focused on four core areas in 2017: Growth and Retention, Government Affairs, SHRM Foundation Support, and Community Outreach.

The award aligns individual chapters and state councils’ activities with SHRM’s aspirations for the HR profession. The award recognizes accomplishments and strategic activities and initiatives that enhance the human resources profession.

“Advancing the human resources profession is a daily mission at SHRM and Chapter/s outstanding work this year contributed significantly to that goal,” said Henry G. (Hank) Jackson, president and CEO of SHRM. “Recipients of this prestigious award are those who show a strong commitment to advancing the HR profession through service to the community, local networking, and professional development activities.”

Carroll County SHRM’s goals for 2016 involved efforts to aid in workforce development, government affairs, college relations and engaging its members.

Carroll County SHRM (CC SHRM) is comprised predominantly of HR professionals working and/or living in Carroll County, MD and is open to any HR or business professional. The chapter meets quarterly offering educational programs and networking.

CC SHRM has won the Gold EXCEL Award from SHRM! This award recognizes outstanding achievements in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to our members. It also is recognition of our continued growth and development as a business leader, capable of developing strategies that lead to business success.  Congratulations to the 2015 Board of Directors and all committee members for the hard word necessary to again achieve this honor.

 

Carroll County SHRM Wins the Gold Excel Award for 2014

Carroll County SHRM is pleased to announce we have won the GOLD Excel Shape award for 2014!

The SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence (SHAPE) has been designed to ensure a strong connection between SHRM and its affiliated chapters from a business perspective.  In addition to clearly outlining the requirements to measure chapter alignment and engagement with SHRM’s overall objectives, SHAPE focuses on activities and initiatives which are more strategic in nature.  These efforts allow each affiliated chapter to increase its viability and effectiveness, as well as promote the HR profession at the local level.  Additionally, this program was designed to enhance the business acumen of local volunteer leaders! 

 

Carroll County SHRM Wins the Silver Excel Award for 2013

This award recognizes outstanding achievements in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to you, our members. It also is recognition of our continued growth and development as a business leader in our community, capable of developing strategies that lead to business success!   

The EXCEL Award is the recognition component of the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence (SHAPE).  SHAPE measures include alignment with SHRM’s overall objectives, strategic focus and initiatives as well as promoting the HR profession at the local level.
